Philip Bramall is the Principal of the firm. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1994. He joined Franklin & Co. in 2000 and became the owner and manager of the firm when James Franklin retired in 2001.
Philip has handled a range of legal matters. He specialises in commercial property and dispute resolution. The work includes leases of business premises, business sale and purchase, and advising on title issues including boundaries, easements and covenants.
The expansion of Franklin & Co. in 2022 and 2023, with additional offices being acquired and new lawyers joining the firm, has led to Philip devoting more of his time to practice management. The player/manager role he has fulfilled for over 20 years has become more predominantly managerial. However, he continues to act for certain long-established clients.
Outside the office, Philip has keen sporting interests. He played cricket for a local club for 26 years before time caught up with him, and still plays in an annual fixture for the Derby & District Law Society. Having grown up in West Yorkshire, he follows rugby league and attends matches on a regular basis.
